Visual Design Projects

Having had come from a Graphic Design background, below are a few of my Visual Design projects.

This catalog was created for an educational program run by Rutgers University. First-Year Interest Group Seminars (FIGS) is a program where first-year students have the choice of taking classes taught by upper class students. Each year the designer of the catalog takes on the task of creating an eye-catching and "trendy" catalog that will bring the attention of the undergraduate students. Coloring books have become the new trend, especially among young adults. Many adults now use it as an alternative to meditation. I incorporated this trend within the catalog, creating a Rutgers University themed coloring book. As Undergraduate students flip through the book they color in popular buildings within the campus, stationary they use on a daily basis, their favorite mascot, and various symbols relating to their course of study.

I began first with listing all of the possible images that relate to the University. I listed out popular locations, majors taught within Rutgers, common stationary used by students, and objects attributed to the Rutgers culture. Keeping the list in mind, I illustrated the objects / locations. After scanning in my illustrations, I finalized with laying out the text.
